How do I use TrainRec with Claude?

Add TrainRec as a custom connector in Claude: open Settings → Connectors in the Claude app or on claude.ai, add TrainRec, and sign in when asked, with no password to make up. Then switch TrainRec on in a chat from the tools menu, and tell Claude what you did or ate. You can also tell Claude once, in your profile preferences, to always use TrainRec for workouts and food.

  1. Open Claude's settings. In the Claude app or on claude.ai, go to Settings → Connectors.
  2. Add TrainRec. Add TrainRec as one of your custom connectors in Claude, then sign in when asked. There's no password to make up.
  3. Switch it on in a chat. In a chat, open the tools menu and switch TrainRec on.
  4. Make it the default. Optional. In your profile preferences, tell Claude to always use TrainRec for workouts and food.
  5. Start talking. Say "Squats, 3 sets of 5 at 185" or "Two eggs and toast for breakfast", and it's logged in the app.

TrainRec is coming soon to iPhone and Android. These are the steps once it’s available.

What you can do once it’s connected

  • Log a workout: “Bench 155 for 3 sets of 6, then 20 minutes on the bike.”
  • Log food: “Chicken burrito bowl for lunch, about 650 calories.”
  • Ask about your history: “How far did I run this month?”
  • Plan ahead: “Plan tomorrow’s upper body day based on last week.”

Bring your history with you

If you’ve used another workout app, Claude can bring your history into TrainRec. Export your data from the old app or take screenshots. Then ask Claude to import it.

Other assistants

TrainRec is built to work with other AI assistants too. We name each one here as soon as it’s confirmed working.
